The series moves like a boxset featuring every major storm of the 2018 season. Josh, along with our embedded professional documentary units, are the ground as the hurricane happens, to give us unique access to the human stories that we don’t see on the news. They embed with families and people attempting to save themselves, their loved ones and their possessions. And they are alongside emergency services and volunteer rescue teams as they attempt to save lives. These camera people also appear on camera making them recurring characters within the series.

Steve Backshall takes on one of the most notorious and deadly mountain climbs in the world – the North Face of the Eiger.
After months of grueling physical and mental training, Steve and his elite climbing team arrive in Switzerland for their attempt to climb the mountain dubbed ‘The Ogre’. But they quickly discover that the vertical mile of treacherous rock isn’t the only challenge that awaits then in the Alps. Faced with brittle ice-covered cliffs, blinding blizzards and deep biting cold, Steve finds himself pushed to the very edge of his ability.
Jack is 7 years old and wants to be a proper wild animal explorer. Chloe is his 5 year old sister who more interested making friends and playing with the animals. Each story is driven by their personal needs and desires eg. Jack wanting to try out a new piece of exploring equipment or Chloe running out of breakfast.
They enter real wild habitats around the world but even with their magic ability to talk to animals, the animal’s are always more confusing and baffling than they imagine. Their sibling relationship is as real as the animals around them, so they behave just a stubborn 7 year old and easily distracted 5 year old would, making for enlightening and hilarious journeys of discovery.

14-year-old Jamie is thrown into the biggest adventure of his life when his dad invites him to join him on an Arctic trek. Jamie’s father has an eye condition which means he will go blind in the next 5-10 years, so he is cramming in as many life experiences as he can and this time he’s taking Jamie with him.
Jamie starts out with little idea of what he’s getting into or why he’s doing it. He’s thrown in at the deep end when he joins a team of adults to trek to and then climb, a mountain in Eastern Greenland. They face 50 km/h winds, -20 temperatures and they must drag everything they need in pulks weighing half his bodyweight. The risks are enormous at the best of times but Jamie’s sulky attitude threatens to put the entire trek in danger. Will he pull through and learn to take the responsibilities needed to become a real…Teenage Ice Trekker?
