As the UK prepares to ‘take back control’ of its borders, this dramatic new series explores how effective Britain’s border security really is.

Eight ordinary British citizens attempt to smuggle themselves back into Britain in different ways from Europe - but without their passports and evading Border Force. Testing real routes used by clandestine entrants, people smugglers and traffickers.

The series is an unprecedented national security experiment: no one has ever tested our borders on this scale, with such a large variety of methods. From boats to lorries, ferries to car boots and passport fraud.

This series raises broader questions about what we can reasonably expect of our Border Force and how we allow access to legitimate asylum seekers fleeing persecution and conflict.
